Karen Lake, CPA, CFST, Reappointed to The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Board of Directors

LAUDERDALE, July 1, 2023 – Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors + CPAs (BPB) today announced Director of Tax Services Karen Lake, CPA, CFST, was reappointed to the Board of Directors of The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), the professional association for all certified CPAs in the state of Florida. Lake previously served on the FICPA Board of Directors from 2018 to 2019.

For nearly 30 years, Lake has focused on helping businesses and individuals develop their tax structures and navigate complex state and local situations. Her areas of specialization include state tax risk, tax structuring, improving cash flow and use of debt, and federal and state credits and incentives.

Involved in various industry associations, Lake is on the Florida TaxWatch Board of Trustees and is chair of the institute’s Tax Advisory Council. She was also recently appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) State and Local Tax Technical Resource Panel. Lake leads the state and local tax (SALT) practice at BPB, which provides tax planning and strategies for individuals and companies operating in multiple states.
